Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer to join our innovative team at CRX. Responsibilities

As a Senior AI/ML Engineer at CRX, you will:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) models leveraging OpenAI services on Azure, enabling advanced natural language understanding and generation tailored to medical record review.
  • Integrate AI models with Medicare APIs, PDF checklists, and diverse healthcare data sources to create a seamless and comprehensive data processing pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain a robust logic library that codifies complex and evolving insurance requirements, ensuring the system adapts to annual updates and regulatory changes.
  • Design and implement document classification and parsing solutions to accurately interpret various healthcare documents, including medical records, insurance forms, and regulatory checklists.
  • Enhance conversational AI interfaces that allow healthcare professionals and internal users to query medical records efficiently and intuitively.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and compliance experts to align AI solutions with business goals and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure strong integration with PostgreSQL databases for structured data storage, retrieval, and management, optimizing performance and scalability.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI/ML, healthcare data standards, and regulatory requirements to continuously improve system capabilities and compliance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous learning within the AI/ML team.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • Python: Proficient in Python programming, with extensive experience in developing AI/ML models, data processing pipelines, and backend services. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code is essential.
  • FastAPI: Experience building high-performance APIs using FastAPI to serve AI models and integrate with other system components, ensuring scalable and secure endpoints.
  • OpenAI Services on Azure: Hands-on experience with OpenAI’s API offerings deployed on Microsoft Azure, including managing model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and optimizing inference workflows for healthcare applications.
  • PostgreSQL: Strong skills in designing, querying, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases to handle complex structured healthcare data, ensuring data integrity and efficient retrieval.
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): Deep understanding of RAG architectures that combine retrieval systems with generative models to enhance information accuracy and relevance, particularly in the context of medical record analysis.
  • AI/ML Model Development: Proven track record in developing, training, validating, and deploying machine learning models, with a focus on natural language processing (NLP) and document understanding.
  • Healthcare Data Processing: Expertise in handling sensitive healthcare data, including knowledge of data formats, standards (such as HL7, FHIR), and best practices for secure and compliant data management.
  • Document Classification and Parsing: Experience implementing automated classification and parsing techniques for diverse healthcare documents, enabling structured data extraction from unstructured sources.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Medicare and Insurance APIs: Familiarity with Medicare data systems and insurance provider APIs, enabling seamless integration and real-time data validation for coverage criteria.
  • Conversational AI: Knowledge of building and improving conversational AI systems, including dialogue management and natural language understanding, to facilitate intuitive querying of medical records.
  • Regulatory Compliance in Healthcare: Understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and other compliance frameworks that impact AI system design and data handling.
  • Cloud Computing on Azure: Broader experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services beyond OpenAI, including Azure Functions, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
