Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Ruby Fullstack Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on building and expanding our healthcare data platform and member management solution. This role is crucial to our organization as it directly impacts the quality and efficiency of our software solutions, which ultimately enhance the healthcare experience for our users. Responsibilities

• Development and Expansion: Design, develop, and maintain our healthcare data platform and member management solution using Ruby and JavaScript. You will be responsible for writing high-quality, maintainable code that adheres to best practices and engineering standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Product team to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your collaboration will ensure that the final product meets user needs and aligns with business objectives.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team. You will help shape the technical direction of the organization and influence engineering practices.
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in engineering standards and processes. You will be expected to implement best practices that enhance code quality, reduce technical debt, and streamline development workflows.
• API Design and Development: Design and develop robust APIs that facilitate seamless integration with other systems and services. Your expertise in API design will be critical to ensuring the scalability and reliability of our platform.
• Compliance: Ensure that all development activities comply with safety and security policies. You will be responsible for implementing security best practices in your code and contributing to the overall security posture of the organization.
• Autonomy and Influence: Take ownership of your work and contribute to the technical culture of the organization. You will have the opportunity to influence decisions and drive initiatives that align with the company’s vision and goals.
• Show initiative and take ownership of the code.
• Experience with maintenance on the backend, ensuring there are no bugs or performance issues.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

• Ruby: Proficiency in Ruby programming language is essential. You should have experience building web applications and services using Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks. Your understanding of Ruby’s object-oriented principles and design patterns will be crucial for writing clean and efficient code.
• JavaScript: Strong knowledge of JavaScript is required, as you will be working on the front-end aspects of our applications. Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries will be beneficial for creating interactive user interfaces.
• API Design and Development: Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs is a must. You should be able to create APIs that are well-documented, secure, and scalable, ensuring smooth communication between different components of the system.
• Compliance with Safety and Security Policies: A strong understanding of safety and security policies is critical. You should be able to implement security measures in your code and ensure that all development practices adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Ideal Skills

• React: Familiarity with React or similar front-end frameworks is a plus. Experience in building responsive and dynamic user interfaces will enhance your ability to contribute to the front-end development of our applications.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• AWS: Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) is desirable. Experience with cloud services, deployment, and infrastructure management will be beneficial for optimizing our applications and ensuring high availability.
• Kubernetes: Understanding of container orchestration using Kubernetes is a nice-to-have skill. Experience in deploying and managing containerized applications will help streamline our development and deployment processes.
• Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is advantageous. This skill will enable you to automate infrastructure provisioning and management, contributing to a more efficient development workflow.
