We are hiring a senior Workday Application Engineer to design and build the foundational systems that feed finance at a fast-growing insurtech. This role will own Workday integrations, reporting, and end-to-end delivery for insurance-specific finance processes, working closely with Finance, Actuarial, Operations, and Technology.

This is an opportunity to shape integration standards, resolve complex insurance finance data issues, and deliver practical, production-ready solutions using Workday integration and reporting tools while supporting rapid company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Workday ERP integrations for claims management, billing, cash, actuarial systems, and reinsurance.
  • Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements for Workday finance modules.
  • Configure and support integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and Workday APIs.
  • Define data mappings, transformation rules, validation logic, and reconciliation processes for insurance finance flows.
  • Identify and resolve data quality and interface issues common to premiums, claims, reserves, billing, commissions, cash application, and reinsurance accounting.
  • Build, maintain, and validate Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Worksheets) focused on insurance finance metrics.
  • Produce clear documentation: process flows, functional specifications, and user guides.
  • Lead testing, UAT, deployment, and provide post-go-live support and iterative improvements.
  • Coach finance teams on new Workday processes and drive user adoption and change management.
  • Act as a hands-on bridge between Finance, Technology, Actuarial, and external vendors to translate requirements into working solutions.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience delivering Workday reports and integrations end-to-end.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Workday integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and Workday APIs.
  • Proven ability to build and validate Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Worksheets) and define calculated fields and reporting logic.
  • Practical understanding of insurance finance processes or ability to learn quickly: premiums, claims, reserves, billing, commissions, reinsurance, and general ledger entry.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Finance, Actuarial, Operations, Product, and external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements for ERP/finance systems.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end delivery including configuration, testing, UAT, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical and insurance finance concepts to executive stakeholders.
  • Self-directed, pragmatic, delivery-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience helping set up or scale finance systems in a growth-stage company.
  • Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics or Adaptive Planning.
  • Prior experience with insurance-specific interfaces and processes such as bordereaux, receivables, or claims.
