Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Developer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving data-driven decision-making by developing and maintaining insightful dashboards and reports that focus on ad viewership, impressions, campaign types and pacing, as well as market research insights. The ideal candidate will work closely with key stakeholders across Yield, Operations, and Marketing teams to deliver actionable intelligence that supports business growth and operational efficiency. This position requires a strong technical foundation, expert-level SQL proficiency, and the ability to operate effectively within an Agile Scrum environment.
Responsibilities
As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that provide critical insights into advertising performance and market trends. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Developing and optimizing complex SQL queries and Snowflake SQL scripts to extract, transform, and load data efficiently, with a focus on cost optimization.
- Building and maintaining automated data workflows and pipelines using Apache Airflow to ensure timely and reliable data delivery.
- Creating visually compelling and user-friendly dashboards using Tableau that enable stakeholders to monitor key metrics such as ad viewership, impressions, campaign pacing, and market research insights.
- Managing version control and collaboration through GitLab, ensuring code quality and traceability.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Yield, Operations, and Marketing to gather requirements, refine user stories, and deliver demos.
- Participating actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure continuous delivery and improvement.
- Communicating complex data insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, leveraging strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- Taking initiative to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and propose innovative solutions to improve data processes and reporting capabilities.
- Supporting basic data engineering tasks related to pipeline development and maintenance to ensure data integrity and availability.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- Mastery in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries is essential. You will be working extensively with Snowflake SQL scripts, focusing on performance and cost efficiency.
- Proficiency in scheduling, managing, and monitoring workflows using Apache Airflow is critical for automating data pipelines and ensuring reliable data processing.
- Strong experience in designing and developing interactive, insightful dashboards and visualizations in Tableau that meet diverse stakeholder needs.
- Experience managing source code and version control using GitLab, including branching, merging, and collaboration workflows.
- Deep understanding of Snowflake’s architecture and SQL dialect to optimize data retrieval and transformation processes.
- Proven ability to work within Agile Scrum teams, participating in ceremonies, managing story points, and delivering iterative value.
- Familiarity with fundamental data engineering concepts and pipeline development to support data ingestion and transformation workflows.
- Demonstrated experience handling large-scale, complex SQL workloads with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams, understand stakeholder needs, and manage relationships with empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
