Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of core systems that are critical to company growth and customer impact.
- Define and uphold architectural patterns that balance scalability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies where they improve business or developer outcomes.
- Partner with engineering leads, product managers, and stakeholders to shape product direction.
- Break down complex technical problems and help cross-functional teams deliver cohesive solutions.
- Foster alignment on engineering best practices across teams.
- Mentor engineers, promote technical excellence, and lead design reviews.
- Set and uphold high standards for code quality, system resilience, and security.
- Influence engineering culture through thought leadership and hands-on guidance.
- Champion CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and implementation of long-term reliability improvements.
- Take ownership of platform performance, cost efficiency, and technical debt management
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven expertise in designing and building scalable distributed systems and backend services.
- Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and systems architecture.
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or equivalent programming languages.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience working in Cloud Environments (preferably Google Cloud Platform).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across an organization.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience leading technical strategy or major platform migrations.
- Familiarity with the company’s stack: TypeScript, Node.js, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and GCP.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD tooling, and infrastructure-as-code.
- A security-first mindset, with familiarity in modern authentication, encryption, and secure-by-design principles.
