Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data insights.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards that provide clear visibility into product performance and business operations.
- Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple relational databases.
- Build and maintain SQL-based data models that support scalable and reusable analytics solutions.
- Apply business context to data requests, ensuring that analyses are relevant and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Craft compelling analytical stories and presentations that communicate complex data insights in an accessible and impactful manner.
- Continuously monitor data quality and integrity, identifying and resolving discrepancies or anomalies.
- Support the data team in adopting best practices for data management, visualization, and storytelling.
- Utilize data visualization tools, primarily Tableau, to create interactive and user-friendly dashboards.
- Engage in ongoing learning and development to stay current with industry trends, tools, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data insights into product development cycles.
- Participate in agile workflows, using tools such as JIRA to manage tasks and track progress.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives, including leveraging technologies like dbt for data transformation workflows.
- Bring fintech industry knowledge to enhance the relevance and impact of data analyses, where applicable.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- SQL: Expert-level proficiency in SQL is essential for querying complex databases efficiently. The candidate must be adept at writing optimized queries, creating data models, and performing data manipulation across various relational database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle. Strong SQL skills enable the analyst to extract meaningful insights from large datasets and support data-driven decision-making.
- Data Visualization: Proficiency in data visualization tools, with a focus on Tableau, is critical. The candidate should be capable of designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports that clearly communicate data insights to diverse audiences. Effective visualization skills help transform raw data into intuitive and actionable visual stories.
- Data Storytelling: The ability to craft compelling narratives around data findings is vital.
